The time has come to announce that -THE- has withdrawn from the battlefield. Joint Operations was one campaign too far and took a heavy toll on all the players. As such we have decided to rest our weary bodies and await the next NL game. Many have left the battlefield already and are plying their trade in the lands of Azeroth in the World of Warcraft, And a few brave and hardy souls have joined the little known Dutch Foreign Legion outfit aka The Dutch Alliance to continue the fighting in Indonesia and in the International Conflict that is brewing. In short, THE will no longer be playing matches, but the spirit of THE will live on in the forums, ready to recommence battle when the call comes. We are also sad to announce the loss of Arch Enemy who has given the squad over 5 years faithfull service, who was last seen atttacking the Horde singlehandedly in some distant part of Azeroth.

Congratulations to Shadow on his appointment to Recruitment XO for Joint Operations. We are again actively seeking JO players to bolster our ranks to support our battleplans. Congratulations also to Ninja on his appointment to trooper after successfully surviving (?) his first encounter under fire from TDA. We got our a$$es whupped, but had a great time in the process. Finally the Combat Action medal was also awarded to Mario on his first blooding under competitive fire.

 

More Hawkie awards summary

Another installment of the Hawkie awards round-up gives tribute to the Bunny of the year aka Kelly. Also one of the most highly contested awards was for slacker of the year. Competition was tough, but some peeps actaully worked to hard to appear the biggest slacker, but in the end those that took things in their stride came through and this year the award goes to Sonic. Another award that almost ended up being a group effort due to the amount of so called helpers was the award for Best Chef. Although the BBQ was the focal point of the meet, the award was rightly deserverd by Becky who fed us for the remainder of the week that most of us stayed for.

 

Hawkie Awards

Its time to revisit the Hawkie awards and pay tribute to the Blond Moment of the Year. In a strongly fought battle Beeps was always in the lead for this award, even if she felt it was justified or not! However all that changed as we all departd the Squad meet in Sunny July. Step forward Golle to receive your award. And the blonde moment that surpassed all others? How about sticking a Pizza in the oven for lunch before setting out to fly to the UK for the week, and forgetting that you left it in there, until you returned home to a nice and crispy and very black pizza! Not only did this win him the best blonde moment, but kyboshed his chances of making the short-list for the best chef!

Time stands still for no man, not even a mouse, so its with great pleasure that Aeolus and Beeps welcome MAUS into the 30+ Club. Its been a long time coming, but we are certain he will start to show signs of being older and wiser any time soon. So all that is left is for us all to wish the old git, a Happy Birthday!
